Hello my name is Wendy Lachowicz. I am a mother of two and am married to a Coastie! I have been a part of the Coast Guard for the past 18 years [4 years dating a cadet at CGA and then 14 years of traveling this great country experiencing ship life, the avaiation world, and now onto headquarters. As I began the process of my 7th move in 12 years [selling and buying a home], I was getting frustrated with not knowing who was moving to my area and may want to purchase my home and who I could contact in my new location. So when you need answers these days, everyone turns to Facebook. My idea to start a Facebook group page absolutely exploded in less than 48 hours with so much great information on what is for sale/rent or where Coasties are looking to buy/rent as they relocate this Summer. I quickly decided I needed to come up with a better way for us all to organize all this great information so no one misses any details, as well as everyone finds what they are looking for during this chaotic moving season. The site is set up according Coast Guard districts. Use the map on the HOME page to locate the district you are interested in and click on the link to the left. Please continue to post your relocation discussion on the Facebook group page or check out the new blog page on this website. I will add other useful sections, such as school references, "MoM" references, and more realtor referrals, etc very soon. I would love to hear about any realtor referrals or businesses & services that you'd like to see posted.
